I have used the quiet bell for several years now. I teach my first graders (on the first day of school) to whisper "Shhh, Quiet" when they hear the bell. Works like a charm and I have an extremely chatty class!

Next year I plan to start using my bell on the first day with my third graders. It's the best $5.00 I have spent for my classroom! Thanks for stopping by.

I use a bell for 45 second (or so) clean ups. I have a student ring the bell and everyone has to be cleaning things up off the floor or other areas. Then I have them ring it again when time is up. It is amazing how clean the room can get in such a short period of time when it is a game!

I just now noticed this comment. Never got notification of it! I like your idea of using the bell for clean up time. Will have to try this out myself. Thanks for sharing.
